Lululemon YXE:

A series of photographs to be used in store in Saskatoon as well as select national branding materials. This shoot features ambassador Danica Slattery at Thrive Juice Co.

Ambassadors are chosen for many different reasons, but a common trend is that they are community builders. On the business side, Danica operates Thrive Juice Co. here in Saskatoon. On the health and wellness side she helps people with guided meditation. For her ambassador photoshoot shoot, we wanted to showcase three main ideas. Community leader, business owner, and meditation specialist.

We used the Thrive Juice Co. store as the location for the entire shoot. We started with portraits of Dannica along with some candid shots. Part of the creative direction included photographs of her working the front counter. Good photography looks good, great photography tells a story. In all of our work, we prioritize the storytelling.

For the second half of the shoot, we rearranged their storefront and cleared it out for Danica to do a meditation with a group. They often use this space to host events throughout the year, and this was a great way to show her doing what she does in her space. One of the challenges was keeping the photography clean and simple—simple photographs are often the hardest to create. We do what we can to get the best shots straight out of camera. We use photoshop for everything else.

Working inside a clients brand guide is always a unique challenge. As a creative, it’s easy to do exactly what we have in mind but it takes a bit of work to collaborate and work as a team. There is what clients ask for and want and as the creative, we interpret and translate all the ideas, themes, and guidelines into a final look.

Overall this series was a success and our client was thrilled with the results.
